The Arabian Horse Association is returning to the Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. Horse Complex in Raleigh, N.C. for the 15th Annual Sport Horse National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show. Mark your calendars and join us for this year’s new and exciting classes and events.
There are a couple new classes making their debut at Sport Horse Nationals this year, including Western Dressage Basic, Level 1, and Level 2 Championship! These classes are scheduled for Friday, September 8 at 8 a.m.; Sunday, September 10 at 8 a.m., and Saturday, September 9 at 8 a.m., respectively. Each of these classes will be located in the Dressage Rings.
This year we’re bringing back the Progressive Barn Party, a fun and interactive way for barns from across the country to show off their barns and meet new friends. It will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 7. The signup sheet is located in the Omnibus, and it’s free to participate.
Also coming back this year is the Wine and Cheese Party, sponsored by Markel Insurance. It will be held on Saturday, September 9 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. outside the show office.
The third annual silent auction will begin on September 5 at 12 p.m. and will close on Saturday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. outside the show office. All proceeds will go to benefit the Arabian Horsemens Distress Fund (AHDF) and the Duke Children’s Hospital. Anyone is welcome to bring auction items.
There will also be a youth ice cream social on Wednesday, September 6 after the afternoon session at the Arabian Horse Youth Association (AHYA) Boot, located on the Concourse in the Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. Horse Complex.
Also located in the Concourse will be the Shopping Expo. Everything you’ve ever wanted for yourself and your horse can be found during your shopping experience at Sport Horse Nationals! The Shopping Expo will be open daily from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
