There are new rules in place regarding patronship stabling procedures and transferring patronships. Please read and familiarize yourself with the new rules. AHYA SELECTED FOR USEF YOUTH SPORTSMAN'S AFFILIATE GRANT

The Arabian Horse Youth Association (AHYA) is proud to announce that U.S. Equestrian has awarded them a Youth Sportsman’s Award Recognized Affiliate Grant.  This grant will be instrumental in supporting the Youth Judging and Hippology Contest program. These contests help promote the Arabian horse and build leadership and communication skills within the youth of our industry.    With the help of these grant funds, AHA will be hosting an Introduction to Arabian Horse Judging webinar. The webinar will have an emphasis on helping coaches gain more knowledge on how judging Arabian horses is different from stock horse breeds. APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR UPHA MARIA KNIGHT SCHOLARSHIP

The UPHA Maria Knight Scholarship was established to honor UPHA Professional, Maria Knight and her commitment to providing a college education for her daughter. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit of the applicant’s high school or college transcripts, a resume demonstrating extracurricular activities both in relation to the applicant’s equestrian career and participation in activities in school and the community. Prior scholarships will be taken into consideration. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a scholarship to children of professional horsemen who are current professional members of UPHA. APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR UPHA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT

The UPHA Professional Development Grant was established to support UPHA members wanting to pursue continued education to further their equestrian business endeavors. Funds must be used for an educational program or certification to further their equine education, skills or proficiency to improve or enhance the grant recipient’s equine business endeavors. Applicant must be a UPHA member in good standing for a minimum of two years prior to application. Applicants must participate as an exhibitor, instructor, trainer and/or owner in the American Saddlebred, Arabian, Hackney, Morgan, National Show Horse, Roadster and/or Saddle Seat Equitation divisions. MIDWEST CHARITY HORSE SHOW ANNOUNCES JUDGES, CLASS ADDITIONS

Midwest Charity Horse Show announces its 81st annual show, June 14-18, 2022, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Daily performances will be 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., with a distinguished panel of judges: Jim Cherry, Encinitas, Calif.; Gary Garone, Richmond, N.H.; Brooke Jacobs, Georgetown, Ky.; and Lisa Jo White, Woodstock, Ill. New Classes include: Opportunity Open Parade and Championship; Five Gaited Pony and Championship; Three Gaited Pony and Championship; Morgan Classic Pleasure Driving and Championship; Arabian Country Pleasure Driving Championship and; Half Arabian Country Pleasure Driving Championship. USEF ANNOUNCES 2022 US SADDLESEAT WORLD CUP TEAM AND COACHES

Eleven athletes from eight states will represent the U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Team at the 2022 Saddle Seat World Cup, to be held in Harrodsburg, Ky., from July 25-30. Coaches Katie Case (Simpsonville, Ky.) and Pam Roush (Lutz, Fla.) will lead the U.S. team against several teams from abroad. UPHA ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR 2022 CARETAKER HALL OF FAME

UPHA is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Jesus Gonzales Gomez UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame. The next inductee into this Hall of Fame must share enthusiasm and loyalty with his/her barn family and maintain perseverance in the face of adversity. Two Caretaker Hall of Fame awards are offered each year. One is presented at the Lexington Junior League Show, the other at the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show. UPDATES FOR YOUTH AND MID-SUMMER NATIONALS

The Arabian Horse Association has announced some updates for Youth and Mid-Summer Nationals, to be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, July 14-23, 2022. New, customized trophies have been commissioned from Judy Nordquist this year, to go to Gold and Silver placings, as well as newly designed neck ribbons for the top ten of each class. The Entry Deadline is Tuesday, June 1 at Midnight (MDT) No post entries will be accepted after July 11 at 5pm The AHPA Hunter Pleasure AOTR Jackpot Classes and AWPA Western Pleasure AATOR Maturity Classes will be held at Mid Summer Nationals A new class added to the schedule: "It's All Relative Western Pleasure Jackpot Challenge"

PERFORMANCE MATURITY DEADLINE FOR SPORT HORSE NATIONALS IS MAY 1

Competitors planning to show in the AOTR Maturity Class at Sport Horse Nationals need to be sure their horses are enrolled in the Sport Horse Nationals Performance Maturity Program. Enrollment into the program is required in order to show in these classes. The enrollment deadline for the first payment for the AOTR Performance Maturity Program is May 1, 2022. In order to avoid late fees, the entry can be paid in full ($745 per class) or the first payment ($340) must be postmarked/electronic transaction dated by May 1, 2022. IN MEMORIAM - SINGULARCYLECTION (1997-2022)

Bred by R.O. Lervick Arabians, Singularcylection took her first championship in Mare Halter at 2, and was a U.S. National Top 10 the following year in the U.S. National English Pleasure Futurity. Between 2001 and 2020, she produced 15 foals: seven are National winners, four of those were National and/or Reserve National Champions. Her son ROL Firecracker+// is 17-time National or Reserve National Champion, and his sister ROL Fire Lily+// is six-time National or Reserve National Champion. TWO NEW CLASSES ADDED TO 2022 SPORT HORSE NATIONALS

Two new classes have been added to the 2022 Sport Horse National Championship Show, which is to be held September 12-17, in Wilmington, Ohio. The new classes are: Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle AOTR Maturity HA/AA Sport Horse Under Saddle AOTR Maturity These classes are for horses that are 5-6 years of age. Horses must be enrolled into the Sport Horse National Performance Maturity Program in order to participate in the class. Note: Half-Arabians competing in the Maturity Classes must have parentage DNA verified to the purebred Arabian parent on file at the AHA office before they are allowed to compete. AHA RELEASES MEMBERSHIP UPDATE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

** Following is an open letter sent to the Arabian Horse Association membership. ** Arabian Horse Champions,  The Arabian Horse Association was formed in 2003 to bring Arabian horse enthusiasts together to preserve and advance the Arabian breed. That goal remains the primary focus of AHA. We are pleased to find mutual understanding so we can advance and celebrate the Arabian horse industry for the benefit of all. We understand our association is stronger when we are unified, and we are looking forward to 2022. The AHA Board of Directors recently made decisions at the Jan. 25 meeting. BREEDING ENTRY, HALTER FUTURITY ENROLLMENT STILL OPEN

The Arabian Horse Association's Breeding Entry and Halter Futurity Enrollments for 2022 in-utero foals still can be submitted to the AHA office through February 15, 2022. Though there will be a late fee of $100 for Breeding Entries and a $100 late fee per horse/per country for Halter Futurity Enrollments. AHA'S HALTER FUTURITY RENOMINATIONS STILL BEING ACCEPTED

The Arabian Horse Association has released a notice reminding members that even if they missed the January 3 deadline to renominate their horse(s) in the U.S. and Canadian Halter Futurity Program, they still can renominate them through March 31. Members can renominate their horses for $135 per horse/per country (for horses that are current in the program) up through March 31. US EQUESTRIAN LAUNCHES NEW USEF SAFE SPORT PSA AND MAAP POLICIES CAMPAIGN

US Equestrian has launched an expansion of the USEF Safe Sport and Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) campaign with important video messages from US Equestrian President Tom O’Mara and USEF General Counsel, Sonja Keating. The new videos reinforce US Equestrian’s ongoing commitment to creating and maintaining a welcoming, safe, enjoyable, and supportive environment for all, especially children and their families. The Arabian Horse Association has released an open letter to members reminding them of National Arabian Horse Day on February 19. The association had some suggestions on "How to Observe #NationalArabianHorseDay." AHA ANNOUNCES 2021 RECOGNITION AWARD WINNERS

The Arabian Horse Association has announced the winners of its 2021 Recognition Awards. The Ambassador Award, Open Competition Award, and Distance Horse of the Year Award are designed to recognize Arabian and Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian horses that excel outside of AHA. Horses nominated by the deadline are chosen by the AHA Awards Committee at the Annual Convention each year. OPEN COMPETITION AWARD WINNER: Bristol Blaze - Owned and Bred by Melissa F. STALLION REPORTS DUE JAN. 31

The Arabian Horse Association reminds its members that stallion reports are due by January 31, and are still free. After January 31, the cost will be $50 per stallion.  Stallion reports are required for all U.S. registered purebred Arabian stallions bred to all U.S. registered purebred Arabian mares. US EQUESTRIAN ANNOUNCES VIRTUAL SESSIONS AHEAD OF 2022 ANNUAL MEETING

The 2022 USEF Annual Meeting is set to take place January 13-15, in Naples, Florida. In addition to the in-person meetings being held in Naples, USEF is offering members the opportunity to join several informational sessions which will be held virtually via Zoom during the week of the Annual Meeting.
