TIME TO RIDE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Time to Ride is an initiative of the American Horse Council's Marketing Alliance designed to connect new people to horses and grow participation across the entire horse industry. This year, the Arabian Horse Association partnered with Time to Ride on its largest program, the Time to Ride Challenge. The Challenge offered $100,000 cash and prizes to the stables, clubs, and businesses who introduced non-riders to horses and riding. AHA offered an additional $5,000 just for members of AHA who competed in the Challenge. The Challenge opened on April 1, and took place from June 1 through September 30.

There were quite a few Arabian horse barns that joined the challenge and introduced numerous new people to the horse industry. In the overall division competition(small, medium, large), Arabian horse barns placed as followed:

SMALL DIVISION

  • Moonshine Stables and Riding Academy at Shadow of a Doubt Equine Services placed 14th, bringing 201 newcomers and received $100 for the $100 for 100 contest.
  • Taylor Ranch placed 15th, bringing 155 newcomers and received $100 for the $100 for 100 contest.

MEDIUM DIVISION

  • Rushlow's Arabians placed third, bringing a total of 807 newcomers and receiving prize money of $2,500
  • Rusty Bar Ranch placed eighth, bringing 232 newcomers and receiving prize money of $500.

LARGE DIVISION

  • No Arabian horse barns in the large division

For the Association competition division and the chance to win additional prize money totaling to $5,000 from AHA, barns placed as follows:

  1. Rushlow's Arabians - 807 newcomers - receiving an additional $3,500 from AHA.
  2. Rusty Bar Ranch - 232 newcomers - receiving an additional $1,500 from AHA.
  3. Moonshine Stales and Riding Academy at Shadow of a Doubt Equine Services - 201 newcomers.
  4. Taylor Ranch - 155 newcomers.
  5. Golden Ridge Stables - 68 newcomers.
  6. Stillwater Stables of Decatur - 48 newcomers.
  7. Sunset Ridge Ranch - 25 newcomers.
  8. Castaway Arabians Farm - 16 newcomers.

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 2016 Time to Ride Challenge and introduced a total of 1,552 newcomers to the industry. It is those individuals who help grow the industry and are the reason we can keep doing what we do. We can't wait to see what 2017 Time to Ride Challenge looks like and how many more newcomers can be introduced to the Arabian horse.
